Can one mix the color of wood floors? I have light oak floors in my kitchen and would like something a bit darker in the adjoining dining/living room? Suggestions? sjs

This is hard to pull off, but it can be done. Some thoughts: -are you able to sand your kitchen and re-stain to match the new floors? If not: -try to incorporate a light border inlay in your dark floors around the perimeter of the rooms so that they marry with the lighter kitchen... see more
