Bells and Whistles
Your next-door neighbors may have an over-the-top kitchen, complete with double convection steam oven, built-in coffee maker, and all the latest gadgets because they are gourmet cooks, says designer Lisa Busacca Furey. “Planning your kitchen based on someone else’s cooking habits can be a very costly mistake. If you use your kitchen to cook meals but are not a connoisseur of fine wines and foods, that 24-bottle wine cooler or separate baking center may be unnecessary. Take the time to really think about how you cook and the tools you will need to make kitchen tasks easier for you and your family.”
