Our kitchen table was the first piece of furniture we found for our 140-year-old brick Victorian house—and it’s still the piece that receives the most compliments and questions. That sturdy, unvarnished farm table serves as a central gathering spot and anchor for our entire home. This is partly because of the table’s size (large enough to comfortably seat a crowd without too much squeezing), but mostly it's because of what it’s made from: Wood salvaged from a chicken coop originally built in the 1800s.
