Off the Shelf

1 of 8

Have you updated your kitchen's cabinets lately? If not, look no further. Lower cabinets that open to reveal drawers, rather than shelves, are a growing trend—and for two good reasons. One, they provide more storage than cabinets with shelves. Two, they provide the extra storage in the base cabinetry for easy access to people of all ages, while preserving sight lines. To take full advantage of your kitchen drawers, incorporate these six creative cabinet organization solutions.

AWESOME

I have recently completed my kitchen with Decora. I have this toekick drawer in my island and I love it! I filled it with extra school supplies when school started and the kids know to go there when they need an extra pencil or notecards. This drawer is also one feature our family loves to show off when we have guests over.

I love this idea but worry that the inside of the drawers will get quite dirty - and fast - as that is where the crumbs fall and gather. Have you found this to be a problem?
