CULTIVATE: You’ve designed houses across the United States, often focusing in New York City and The Hamptons. You're known for adding unexpected glamour and whimsy into every design you create—including the kitchen. What are your favorite design tricks?
EDDIE: I love using mirrored backsplashes every chance I get. They add light, sparkle, and life. It’s reminiscent of a French bistro where you’re able to see what’s happening all around the room. I also like adding vintage elements, which give any kitchen unique personality and history. A mid-century chandelier, for example, placed in a sleek, modern kitchen creates unexpected drama.
