When designing a kitchen for a growing family, limiting the traffic patterns is paramount!! Having a door to block free access for everyone who wishes to be underfoot , including the cat and the dogs, is essential to the cook and by extension the entire family!! A floor plan which can be blocked and with a door which locks is most desirable, preferably the door will have a window for observation purposes ,allowing the cook to decide if child squabble intervention is necessary.
