I think it's important to emphasize...if everything goes as according to plan. So many times I've experience unhappy clients due to their inability to understand that we, the contractor, cannot control what's in their walls (mold), if material is supplied incorrectly (kitchen manufacturer), if materials arrive damaged (shipping carriers). Anyone doing a remodel needs to understand that there may be setbacks, and be prepared for them. This isn't something the contractor wants either!
A major kitchen remodel is a huge undertaking. But it's also one that will pay for itself over time, with added value to your house and a new design that really fits your family's lifestyle. Be aware that the remodeling process will take time and be disruptive. After months of planning, a host of people (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, tile setters, and so forth) will descend on your house daily until the job is done. Knowing what to expect—and when it will happen—will help you cope with what can be a stressful few months.
