Tile Style

2 of 8

Tile’s not just for countertops and backsplashes—take your tile to the walls! Easily adaptable to all styles of kitchens, from starkly modern to totally traditional, tiles come in a rainbow of colors, materials, and patterns. Small mosaic tiles in ceramic or glass can provide the pattern and visual interest in a muted modern space, as in this San Francisco kitchen. Other great choices? Long, rectangular subway tiles have a classic vintage feel, glass tiles come in all different shapes and sizes and are subtly translucent, and textured tiles give a 3-D effect to make your walls literally stand out.
