One of our favorite up-and-coming kitchen trends is the use of metals as a design statement—from shimmery gold to hammered copper, metallic finishes are making an appearance in kitchens of all shapes, sizes and styles, from rustic to modern. Not only are they eye-catching, but reflective metals also can help small kitchens feel bigger by allowing natural light to bounce around the room. Case in point: the hammered silver cabinetry Jean-Louis Deniot's kitchen, featured in Elle Decor. Want to capture the look in your own space? We've rounded up 5 great pieces at every price.

1. Home on the Range [photo above]
If you're looking to make a big metallic statement, stainless steel appliances are the classic option. The look of this La Cornue Albertine stainless steel range makes us a little weak in the knees—not to mention, it offers professional-level performance in a space-saving package. Ideal for both modern and industrial kitchens, this is a functional and fashionable way to take advantage of the metallic trend.

2. Copper Showstopper

The sink is the heart of the kitchen, so why not make it a standout? The gentle hammering effect on this double-well, apron-front copper adds texture to the shimmering copper finish, making it a showpiece that fits equally well in rustic and modern kitchen designs. This sink is more than just a style statement, though—its depth and size will come in handy when dealing with piles of dirty dishes.

3. Subtle Shimmer

If you're not quite sold on a super-reflective look, Daltile's 4" x 4" Massalia metal wall tiles offer a gentle textured finish and a medium sheen that will create a stunning but subtle metallic backsplash. Coupled with its affordable price tag, these tiles (which come in bullion, pewter and copper) are a great way to make a metallic statement on budget.

For an even more subtle take on the metallic trend (plus a shot of unexpected, tantalizing texture), try Schumacher's Chevron Texture wallpaper in Mineral (shown here). The Chevron Texture line includes a variety of neutral metallic options, ranging from pale White Gold to deep Burnished Bronze, in a glamorous herringbone pattern that will complement any kitchen design.

5. Going for Gold

If you love the metallic look but aren't willing to commit to it long-term, why not take it to the dining room? This gold-plated stainless steel flatware set will add a little bit of sparkle to everyday living. If you'd like to take the trend a little further, add in west elm's metallic-banded dessert plates in silver or gold for a tablescape that gleams.

The tile is nice, but if the price is really $15 each (instead of per square foot), I woulidn't call that affordable. If my math is correct, that amounts to $135 per square foot, and there are metal mosaics and embossed steel panels available for much less. Please confirm.

How do those Stainless steel ranges like the one show, work out for cleaning? I wonder if alot of fingerprints and such show. It is gorgeous!!

We had a stainless steel range for years and the fingerprints were manageable, even more so than the black range we had for a short while.

I've been doodling over the LaCornue stoves for the last few years, planning my next kitchen reno. I'm still considering the Kuppersbusch as well with its ingenious continuos steam clean feature. Would like feedback.
Love the look of the hammered copper sink but it is not likely to look that good in a very short time.

Can't wait to learn more about your renovation, sounds like a really fun project. We had a hammered bar sink a few years back, it was a great style feature, but you are right, it does require extra care.
