Taking the wall down between the kitchen and dining room allowed for a L shaped peninsula at counter height which allowed for additional seating as well as better use of the dining space which was separated in the past. The view from the kitchen/dining room to the family room was improved by installing a thick glass wall rather than railings or other more traditional style partitions.
