One of the bells and whistles I mentioned is the metal panel under the counter. It's a lovely silver metal with imprints of leaves. I wanted to create an interactive area for the guests to still spend time with the host and hostess, while not getting in anyone's way. The 'bar' was perfect for that, and the metal panel prevents toe marks from getting on the wall. You can also see in this photo the Solatube light we installed. Rather than using a lot of canned lighting, I thought one 'light' would be great in front of the laundry area. That is natural sunlight that is coming through the Solatube. At night, there's a light bulb that can be turned on for extra light.
