You are absolutely correct with your vision! Not only do everyone hang out laughing and talking during the big "Game" and other social events, when the intimate family gathers, the grandchildren are scooting and squeezing onto the banquet seating, making room for "one" more. When the grand kids are not around, the maj jong group takes over

Not me ....but the colors are warm and invigorating and happy. I could see everyone hanging out laughing and talking.

Everyone has their preferences. I can not say that this kitchen is "60's" or retro however . The banquette is a great solution for the space and the needs of this homeowner. The kitchen has been featured as "Top Ten Dream Kitchens" in Better Homes and Garden as well as won "design for Excellence-product design by ASID for the bar that is also featured on my site.
