Creating specifically for my clients is my greatest joy and it’s most fun when designing with a client who has her own great ideas. Our client requested a kitchen that reminded her of her childhood: a kitchen where the entire family hung out and didn’t look “done”. The floor is wide planked oak painted in a checkerboard pattern. Knotty alder cabinets are distressed and glazed, the cabinets in the laundry room, hutch and mantle are finished in milk paint all resulting in a room that looks as though it has been lived in for years. Oh, the stories that that have been told at that table! If the walls could talk!
