When designing a masculine kitchen, not only are color and material selections important, but scale becomes a key player in the overall scheme. The masculine kitchen is the perfect space to use a variety of different wood species, so we did!

As a means to add balance and interest to this kitchen's wood cabinetry, we opted for a gorgeous stone countertop in slabs, which enhances the masculinity of the kitchen. We continued the counter material up the backsplash to the underside of the upper cabinets as another way to add weight to the design of the kitchen. 

We also went for a contrasting paint color for the kitchen island to break up the wood and stone—and to add a hint of daringness to this kitchen design. Large, industrial light fixtures make a strong statement, and windows and furnishings were kept to a minimum for a more masculine look.
