Although the location against the rocky coastline of Carmel offers stunning panoramic ocean views, the interior of the home needed an update. We started by removing the large, curved wall between the kitchen and living room and replaced it with a built-in teak bookcase which maintains some separation of the kitchen while simultaneously opening up the space. The dark espresso cabinets from SieMatic and the rich caramel teak bookcase and breakfast bar complement the existing wood paneling. By upholstering existing furniture pieces with vibrant new fabrics and adding new custom wool rugs, we refreshed and enlivened the adjacent living and dining rooms.
