The ‘before “kitchen was small with a sink without sufficient landing space on the left side. There was a bay window and limited storage. We pushed the sink wall back to the end of the bay window and took the bay out and reused the three windows to create a sitting area. The sitting area offers a space for coffee and viewing the beautiful landscape. We opened the door to the adjacent den to create an open floor plan, adding a lot of tall cabinets with pull out drawers. We also added an island which included a large, stainless farmhouse sink to allow the cook to work and converse with family members. We used a variety of hardware on the cabinetry to designate different storage/work areas.
