The key to this kitchen design is making sure that the view of the patio and garden from the kitchen is maximized. So rather than placing less windows and more cabinetry along the outside wall, much of the kitchen storage is placed in the large island and the opposite wall. Everything is still close by and easily gotten while the view out is unobstructed.
