Designing a Model Home is advantageous and rewarding but also presents many challenges. Some hurdles include satisfying a widely appealing style , achieving a layout that everyone can relate to, and an end result that is breathtaking . The advantage is simple– there is no individual client which liberates the designer to do their magic with all their professional might.
IM Interior Design started the project by scoping the area’s demographic and researching what clients may like to see in their homes. The target audience craved a luxurious lifestyle and enjoyed culinary feats, both in social gatherings and within their everyday bustle. The perfect solution was to create a functional L- shaped layout with a central island, and to provide the home buyers with ample storage space. Base cabinets were completed with pullout drawers that provide easy access to full cabinet contents and a practical "Magic Corner". The upper cabinets were designed with diverse elements to provide depth and visual appeal to the elevation. The smoked glass fronts give the uppers an understated elegance, while the open niche allows clients to jewel their space with a personal touch by displaying their own decorative pieces. The large island is dressed with an over-sized sink, a dish washer, pullout garbage, recycling bins and, of course, an overhang for quick meals that is perfectly suited to a party of 6. Designing the large pantry with the essence of a furniture piece, while keeping the same style of cabinet doors and the smoked glass details achieves a seamless union.
The final product mirrors a timelessly elegant haven that quickly intrigues any patron’s palette.
