This 1940's San Francisco patio-style home contained a chain of living spaces separated by an interior lightwell(the patio). While the living, dining and new kitchen walls are opened wide for a more casual relation, the lightwell and hallway are incorporated into the kitchen for additional space. Stairs lead upstairs to a new master bedroom suite. A large skylight at the top of the stair landing doubles the interior light in the kitchen below.
