The client came to us with a long list of needs and desires. Our initial goal was to fulfill the clients list within the existing space. This was until the client purchased a 60" La Cornue range on a business trip. This changed everything... to accommodate the new purchase it required an addition to be added to the home. If you are going to add four feet you just as well add nine feet, so we did. This opened us up to many more options for the space. We added two islands one as a bakers island made of knotty Alder wood with a dark rich stain. I wanted this island to look like a found piece of furniture with a Venatino marble top for baking. The other island that served as the hub of the kitchen includes a prep sink an addition dishwasher, double waste bins and seating for four. The island was topped with a beautiful American Walnut counter top. The end result was a kitchen that this active family can enjoy with family and friends and never feel they have to leave... actually they live in this space now.
