This kitchen was designed for a cook who enjoys having their friends and family share in the cooking process. Whether it be just family or friends, the "L" shaped island maximizes the ability for many to gather round while the cooking takes place.
The counter top is recycled glass. The cabinetry is made of FSC wood veneers. The tile back splash is recycled glass. The low energy fluorescent uplit form under the counter is a cast polymer with 10% recycled content. The panel material is non-toxic and has no off gassing.
All of the appliances are energy star rated. There are 2 dishwashers; one for large loads and one for smaller, thus conserving water usage.
There is plenty of storage in the walk in pantry.
All of the above and under cabinet lighting is LED light strips. Combined with the lit panel on the island, cocktail hour never felt so good!
Wood is wonderful - especially when it is FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council certified). Please look at my web site or other kitchens I have done - most are wood - except one which I added FSC quartered ash to bring in warmth in an otherwise all white kitchen.
I love real wood kitchens NOT white finishes. I was disappointed that there weren't more shown.
