This kitchen was designed for a family who purchased a historic carriage house outside of Boston. The homeowners wanted a cozy French kitchen. They had an aubergine AGA stove and we took it from there by adding a mellow antique turquoise island by French Heritage, custom cabinetry by Fallon Custom Cabinetry, thick Carrara marble countertops and beautiful latches and pulls by Sun Valley Bronze. The homeowner did not want a large island, she wanted an intimate space, so we purchased the French Heritage island and altered it to add function and scale without being bulky. The cabinetry was custom finished to match the inspirational island by Wayne Towle. The eating area is a cozy space with two custom sofas by Oly Studio and a gorgeous Dennis & Leen dining table. The oversized copper lantern is an antique.
