Atlanta’s Metropolitan Design Group designed this kitchen for an owner who loves to bake and entertain. The lively mix of traditional and contemporary elements is frosted with glamorous details. Painted Shaker-style cabinets with nickel cup-pulls, glass knobs, and a wall of hutch-style cabinets featuring tall seeded-glass doors recall kitchens of the early part of the 20th century. The timeless white marble countertops on the oversized island and in the butler's pantry make rolling out pastries a snap. Commercial-style stainless steel appliances include a 6-burner cooktop, double ovens, two dishwashers, vent-hood, 42" built-in refrigerator, ice maker, and wine refrigerator. The pot filler and restaurant quality faucet make food prep and cleanup a breeze. Walnut countertops on either side of the cooktop echo the warmth of the hardwood floors and add complexity to the mostly white palette. Two large drum style pendants over the island introduce a contemporary note and the watery blue paint color insures a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
