Mr. and Mrs. Alcaraz-Arango kitchen and Florida room upgrade is located in Gables by the Sea, Coral Gables, Florida. The original house and kitchen were built in the 1950’s. The project includes a compact multiuse design that would open up the old enclosed kitchen and breakfast are to the family/Florida room. By creating a U-shaped kitchen with a integrated clear glass lowered breakfast area, the space was transformed into a light contemporary masterpiece. The design by included a new custom build cabinet to integrate and hide the varying toys and appliances, while featuring the piano, a previously neglected item. The new kitchen creates a central control station at the stove while keeping oversight and the Florida room and the outside. The new dark slate floor was completed with salvaged wood floor from the old kitchen. The new cabinets by Akzent Kuechen, Miami provide clean lines and German non toxic assembly. Appliances are Gaggenau and Miele and the counter by Tend includes recycled glass components. Of course non VOC paints and sealants have been used in the project throughout.
