I heard there is a new type of counter top that looks like marble but is a lot more durable and easier to manage. Can you tell me about these marble -look materials that are now available?

The product that you've probably heard of is quartz. There are many different brands of quartz, Caesarstone being the most well known. I installed Caesarstone in my last house and I absolutely loved it. I have had similar products installed in other kitchens since and highly recommend it. It's super easy to take care of and it doesn't stain; spray some 409 and you're done. You never have to seal it which is something that a lot of the natural stones require to maintain its beauty. Caesarstone has a color called Misty Carrera #4141 which is very similar to carrera marble. Check it out at http://www.caesarstoneus.com/gallery/classic/ GOOD LUCK!
