We are redoing our kitchen (gutting everything) - I already know what I like and want in my new kitchen. Should I hire a designer to make it all happen or should I do it on my own. If we do it ourselves - how do we start?

I agree with Amanda. A designer or kitchen professional brings many things to the table, but most importantly they bring experience. Most people only do this type of thing once or twice in a lifetime. A good kitchen professional coordinates projects once or twice a day! You can always decide with your professional how much involvement you need or expect from them.

Hiring a Designer can be beneficial in so many ways! knowing what you want in your new kitchen is only the start. Hiring a professional can save you time and money in the end, as they know how to schedule a project, hire appropriate trades and not to mention knowing all the great places to source the newest products! One of the comments that I hear time and time again from my Clients is that it is nice to be able to bounce ideas around or know that if a problem occurs you have someone to problem solve with. The right Designer can also guide you through the process of this renovation as the put together a schedule and floor plans to ensure nothing gets missed.
