We want white cabinets w/ a dark island. Its an open concept house w/ a medium color hardwood. Kitchen is a light greige tile. I'm worried it will look silly. Hardwood in the kitchen would solve our problem, but it won't wear well. Help!

If you are using a hardwood flooring product and not an engineered wood, hardwood will do great in a kitchen. I install hardwood in kitchens all the time. I have hardwood in my kitchen and would not have it any other way! I absolutely love our floors, I have two children, we live in a snowy area, and we USE our kitchen. Don't hesitate on putting hardwood in your kitchen, you will love it!
